Terms of Service

1. Bespoke Travel Design & Engagement Fee

Afrika Experience operates as an exclusive, bespoke travel designer.

• Professional Design Fee: Detailed research, custom itinerary drafting, and supplier negotiations begin after the payment of our non-refundable Professional Planning & Design Fee.
• This fee covers our professional time, regional expertise, and initial curation.

2. Payment Terms, Deposits, and Confirmations

All itineraries are subject to availability at the time of formal booking.

• Preliminary Holds: Unconfirmed lodge and logistics holds are held for a maximum of 7 days without financial commitment.
• Deposit Requirement: A 50% deposit of the total trip cost is required to secure reservations.
• Production Fee: All trip deposits include a 5% non-refundable administrative production fee (minimum $1,000).
• Final Balance: The remaining 50% balance must be paid in full no later than 90 days prior to Day 1 of your journey.

3. Cancellations & Refunds

Because luxury safari camps, private concessions, and charter aviation operators impose strict cancellation policies, payments made to Afrika Experience are subject to the following rules:

• Professional Planning Fees are 100% non-refundable.
• Cancellations received prior to final payment may forfeit non-refundable deposits committed to third-party suppliers.
• Cancellations made within 30 days of departure are non-refundable.

4. Travel Insurance Requirement

Due to the remote nature of African wilderness expeditions, Afrika Experience strongly recommends that all travelers obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering emergency medical evacuation, medical expenses, trip cancellation, delay, and loss of luggage prior to departure.

5. Limitation of Liability

Afrika Experience acts solely as an agent and coordinator between the client and independent third-party service providers (including airlines, charter operators, lodges, mobile camps, and local guiding firms).

Afrika Experience shall not be held liable for personal injury, property loss or damage, flight delays, weather disruptions, acts of nature, political events, or failures of performance on the part of independent suppliers.

6. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal proceedings arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state or federal courts located in Austin, Texas.
